Apartment Update – Painted Walls and New Lights
A lot of these changes have been made within the past couple of months (I can’t believe it’s been that long), but I thought I would share pictures for all those out there who love house porn.
So here are some before and after pictures:
The living room: Painted the walls, changed the light fixture, and painted the door. I also changed the door knob and locks.
Also, enjoy this video of me getting locked in the living room trying to change the front door (that’s pictured above). I called my brother to come by with a credit card to put into the door, but by the time he got there, I, the strong and independent woman I am, got myself out with a hammer, screwdriver, and pick.
The bathroom: I took off the plastic pink tiles that were around the wall. My dad helped me take down the giant slabs of faux marble from the bathtub area as well as the fixtures. We took out the cabinet above the toilet as well as the medicine cabinet. We took down the shower curtain pipes too.
The bedroom: Not much has changed except the light and my dad’s appearance. I did paint the bedroom door and framing, which I didn’t take a picture of.
The kitchen: Three of my friends helped me paint the kitchen and part of the living room––a spectacular day filled with a lot of singing aloud. I switched the fridge and the stove to allow more light to filter in.
Pantry: For the people that lived here before, they used this as the wardrobe/closet (which is why there’s a bar in there). I painted the walls (if you look at the right wall inside, you get a peek of how gross it was) and the shelves. Now, I put all the tools and supplies in there, and it will function as the pantry when the apartment is ready.
